VisibleThread to exhibit at the APMP® Conference, take the ‘Bad Language’ challenge…

About this Event

May 31 – June 3, 2011, APMP® International Conference, Sheraton Downtown, Denver, CO

We ‘are delighted to’ announce our presence at the APMP conference in Denver this year.

Weak language and clichés can be the death knell for your proposal. Want to spot trite language like the above in your proposals in minutes?

Drop by our stand and we’ll show you some sample RFP responses and how they hide latent language risk. We’ll crunch some RFPs through VisibleThread on the spot for you. Plus we’ll have a bunch of our ‘I hate Bad Language’ t-shirts to give away.

We look forward to seeing you all at the conference.

Credibility killers

Wishy-washy language to avoid:

  • “Can provide.”
  • “Might provide.”
  • “May deliver.”
  • “We are committed.”
  • “We are delighted.”
  • “We are pleased to.”
  • “Uniquely qualified.”

Liability red flags

Terms that convey legal implications or suggest over-commitment:

  • “Expert.”
  • “We guarantee.”
  • “Seamless.”
  • “Best of breed.”
  • “Best practices.”
  • “State of the art.”

Delivery trap

Words and phrases that are difficult to verify or measure:

  • “As appropriate.”
  • “As necessary.”
  • “Full service.”
  • “Quality focused.”
  • “Top-quality.”
  • “Efficiently.”
