3 What's New

FR 31: Provide Export/Import capability for Structure/Quality Best Practices

This release introduces an ability to export and import Best Practices. The export allows you store the Best Practice in an XML format.

Two sources can be used for imports; you can import either from a previously exported file at some location on your file system OR you can import from a URL location where the exported file has been made available.

FR 392: Provide 'BP Usage Matrix'

The Structure Best Practice Usage Matrix introduced in 1.1 facilitates an overview of all Structure & Quality Practices and any associated documents or document sets.

Reviewing the matrix allows you quickly identify projects (i.e. document sets) that may not be using the appropriate Best Practice. Conversely you can easily identify Best Practices that remain un-associated, easily spotted by identifying gaps in the matrix.

FR 427: Provide permissions for Best Practice modification

Users must now have admin rights in order to create, modify or delete Best Practices. If they don’t they are presented with a screen informing them of this.

FR 428: Present Uploaded and modified Attributes for Best Practices, Documents and Doc Sets

When you select a document or any element in the tree you are presented with the properties for that item. For documents and Best Practices this info includes:

4 Bugs Fixed

The following bugs have been fixed for this release:

Dashboard

28	Dashboard	Problem handling file names with + character. Adding files with ‘+’ in the file name caused add & associated analysis to fail.
216	Dashboard	(UTF8 related) tomcat crash when document analyzed. Documents containing non-ASCII characters were causing crashes
235	Dashboard	Best Practice multi-user safety. In certain situations where two or more users were editing Best Practices in the same sandbox, the system was not persisting changes
291	Dashboard	Structural analysis should consider optional/mandatory headings. Optional headings were not being handled in terms of calculations
385	Dashboard	Opening a non-VT doc with sign-in pane active gives 2 VT panes
426	Dashboard	Problem with % character in folder/filenames. If folder or file names had special characters such as %, issues would result in the ability of VT to analyze
429	Dashboard	Applying BP after creating from doc making wrong association. When creating a Structure Best Practice from the document structure area and accepting the prompt, this would result in the wrong doc being associated
433	Dashboard	Change history for pre-canned docs shows incorrect date
444	Dashboard	Dashboard hangs when selecting Best Practice accordion and selected BP has been deleted elsewhere
446	Dashboard	Editing a deleted best practice leaves working copy in messed up state. This occurred in multi-user situations when one user had deleted a BP but the other user had not yet refreshed and proceeded to edit the BP.

* This was also was fixed in the dashboard. Previous versions of the add-in are backward compatible with version 1.1 of the dashboard however, it is recommended to upgrade to get this capability in the add-in.
