VT Writer 2.6.1

VT Writer version 2.6.1 is now available to on-premise customers. This release includes all the features made available to cloud customers in version 2.5 and 2.6.

This release contains lots of new features and improvements. We have also included fixes and tweaks to existing functionality.

VT Readability is now VT Writer

We have rebranded VT Readability as VT Writer. This change in name reflects our goal to build a tool for people who care about good writing.

Along with the change of name, we have also changed the color scheme throughout the tool. We have reviewed every screen. We improved colors and icons to give the application a fresher look and feel. We hope you like the results!

Redesigned Text Editor

This is an important feature for anyone who analyzes text snippets in VT Writer. Up until now, you could not edit the text inline with the suggested fixes. Especially when analyzing longer snippets, writers found this inconvenient.

Today, there is a new editing flow. Users upload their snippet as normal. Click edit and revise copy in-line directly in the scan results view.

And, while you edit, the highlighting of language issues in the text remains intact. So you can see the issues while you are revising the text.

VT Writer - Redesigned Text Editor

For anyone uploading documents to VT Writer, you can, as always, download the annotated doc. It will show all suggestions in MS Word and allow you to edit there.

To see both annotated docs and in-line editing in action, watch this video.

See how well your Ignore List is Working

With this release we have renamed the “Whitelist” to “Ignore List”. This change better reflects the actual use case of this feature.

When working with customers, we frequently get asked “I have added some phrases to my Ignore list, but how do I know it actually made any difference”.

We have added some capability to this release to help address that need.

When viewing the results of a scan, clicking on “Ignored Terms” will present a pop up which displays:

  • The scores for the document if the Ignore List was not used
  • The terms from the Ignore List that occur in the content.
