An order for supplies placed against an existing contract vehicle.
Published

A delivery order is used to purchase supplies under an existing contract vehicle. It defines quantities, delivery schedules,
packaging, and inspection/acceptance procedures. Like task orders, delivery orders leverage pre-negotiated terms to speed
acquisition. Vendors must manage inventory, lead times, and logistics to meet order requirements. Accurate pricing and
fulfillment planning reduce the risk of delays and claims. Delivery orders are common in IT hardware, medical supplies, and
other tangible goods categories.
