(Government contracting) A range of procedures used to resolve disputes without formal litigation. ADR may include mediation, arbitration, neutral evaluation, facilitation, or assisted settlement negotiations, and is commonly used to resolve contract disputes between a contractor and a government agency more quickly and cost-effectively than court or tribunal proceedings.
