The person responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the preparation and submission of a bid or proposal. The Bid Manager oversees the bid schedule, assigns responsibilities, monitors progress, coordinates reviews, manages risks, ensures compliance with the customer’s requirements, and brings together contributions from subject matter experts, writers, pricing, graphics, and other stakeholders. Although they may not write every section, the Bid Manager is accountable for delivering a high-quality, compliant proposal on time and within the agreed resources. Effective Bid Managers help improve proposal quality, team collaboration, and the organisation’s overall win rate.
