Capability Assessment

An evaluation of a supplier's ability to deliver a contract, examining factors such as finances, expertise, capacity, and past performance.

An evaluation of a supplier’s ability to successfully deliver the goods, services, or works required under a contract. A capability assessment typically examines factors such as financial stability, technical expertise, professional qualifications, relevant experience, organisational capacity, quality management, resources, and past performance. Buyers use capability assessments during supplier selection, pre-qualification, or tender evaluation to determine whether a supplier has the capacity and competence to meet contractual requirements. Conducting robust capability assessments helps reduce procurement risk, supports fair and informed award decisions, and increases confidence that the successful supplier can deliver the contract effectively.
