Estimate at Completion (EAC) is a key project management and Earned Value Management (EVM) metric used to assess cost performance, predict budget outcomes, and identify potential cost overruns before project completion. Contractors and programme managers use EAC to support financial forecasting, contract reporting, and management decision-making. On contracts requiring Earned Value Management, significant changes to the EAC may indicate emerging risks that require corrective action or customer notification.
