The projected cost, effort, or time required to complete all remaining work on a project, contract, or specific activity. Estimate to Complete (ETC) is a key project management and Earned Value Management (EVM) metric used to forecast the resources still needed from the current point until completion. ETC is typically expressed in labour hours, cost, or duration and is updated as work progresses to reflect actual performance, remaining scope, and identified risks. Together with the Actual Cost (AC) incurred to date, ETC is used to calculate the Estimate at Completion (EAC), helping project managers monitor budgets, schedules, and forecast project outcomes.
