An indirect cost pool that includes expenses incurred for the overall management and administration of a business rather than for a specific contract, project, or operational function. General and Administrative (G&A) expenses typically include executive management, accounting, finance, legal, human resources, corporate information technology, and other company-wide administrative costs. These costs are allocated across contracts or business activities using an approved allocation base in accordance with applicable cost accounting standards and contract requirements. In government contracting, G&A is a key component of indirect cost rates used to develop contract pricing and recover allowable business operating costs.
