Equipment owned by the government but provided to a contractor to use, manage, and safeguard while performing a contract.

Equipment owned by the U.S. government and provided to a contractor for use in performing a government contract. While the government retains ownership, the contractor is responsible for managing, safeguarding, maintaining, and returning the equipment in accordance with the terms of the contract.
