A business majority owned and controlled by a recognized minority group and certified for supplier diversity and public procurement programs.

A business that is majority owned, operated, and controlled by members of a recognized minority group and certified through an approved certifying organization or public-sector program. MBE certification is commonly used in supplier diversity initiatives and public procurement programs and is distinct from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s socioeconomic business classifications.
