Period of Performance (PoP)

The defined period, with start and end dates and any options, during which a contractor is authorised to perform work under a contract.

The period during which a contractor is authorized and obligated to perform work under a contract, task order, or delivery order. The Period of Performance (PoP) is defined by a start date and end date and may include one or more option periods that the government may exercise in accordance with the contract terms. The PoP establishes the timeframe in which the contractor may perform work, incur allowable costs (when applicable), deliver required products or services, and submit invoices. Changes to the Period of Performance generally require a contract modification or the exercise of an option by the contracting officer.
