Point of No Return (PONR)

The stage in a bid after which the team is effectively committed to submitting, given the time and cost already invested.

The stage in the bid lifecycle after which a bid team is effectively committed to submitting a proposal because of the time, effort, and cost already invested. Beyond the Point of No Return, withdrawing from the pursuit is generally considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as a fundamental change in the opportunity, customer requirements, or commercial viability.
