The process of registering a business in the U.S. federal government’s System for Award Management (SAM.gov), which is required before an organisation can be awarded most federal contracts or receive certain federal financial assistance. Registration is free and establishes the entity’s official record in the federal procurement system, including its Unique Entity ID (UEI), business information, NAICS codes, representations and certifications, and other registration details. Businesses must keep their registration active by reviewing and renewing it annually to remain eligible for federal contracting opportunities.
