Section B of a federal solicitation or contract identifies the supplies or services the government intends to purchase and the associated pricing structure. Under the Uniform Contract Format, this section organizes requirements into Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) and, where applicable, subline items (SLINs), specifying quantities, units of measure, contract type, estimated quantities, and unit and extended prices or costs. Section B establishes the contractual pricing framework used for evaluation, award, funding, invoicing, and contract administration, while the detailed technical requirements for each CLIN are typically defined elsewhere in the solicitation, such as the Statement of Work (SOW) or Performance Work Statement (PWS).
