A small business that is at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more U.S. military veterans with a service-connected disability, with one or more qualifying veterans managing the company’s day-to-day operations and making its long-term business decisions. Eligible firms may obtain certification through the U.S. Small Business Administration’s VetCert program, which verifies their status for federal contracting purposes. Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) are eligible to compete for SDVOSB set-aside and sole-source contracts and may receive additional contracting opportunities under federal socioeconomic procurement programs.
