Technical Data Package (TDP)

The complete set of technical information needed to make, test, maintain, and support a product throughout its lifecycle.

A Technical Data Package (TDP) is the complete collection of technical information required to manufacture, test, inspect, operate, maintain, repair, and support a product or system throughout its lifecycle. A TDP typically includes engineering drawings, technical specifications, three-dimensional models, bills of materials or parts lists, interface definitions, manufacturing instructions, inspection criteria, applicable standards, and other supporting documentation. In government acquisition, a well-defined TDP enables consistent production, competitive re-procurement, configuration management, logistics support, and long-term sustainment while ensuring that contractors and government organizations have a common technical baseline.
