Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB)

A US small business at least 51% owned and run by veterans, eligible for VA Veterans First contracting, without requiring a service-connected disability.

A small business that is at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more U.S. military veterans, with one or more veterans managing the company’s day-to-day operations and making its long-term business decisions. Unlike a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), a VOSB does not require the owner to have a service-connected disability. Eligible businesses may obtain SBA certification through the VetCert program, which enables participation in the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veterans First Contracting Program, including VOSB set-asides and sole-source awards, while also strengthening their position in broader federal and commercial supplier diversity programs.
