Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)

The largest US third-party certifier of women-owned businesses, widely recognised for corporate and government supplier diversity programmes.

A nonprofit organization and the largest third-party certifier of women-owned businesses in the United States. Through its network of Regional Partner Organizations, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certifies that a business is at least 51% owned, controlled, operated, and managed by one or more women. WBENC certification is widely recognized by corporations, state and local governments, and educational institutions for supplier diversity programs. Although distinct from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract Program, WBENC certification may also support eligibility for certain federal contracting certifications and opportunities.
