It’s that time of the year again! APMP 2015 is just around the corner. Well, May 26th to 29th to be precise. We at VisibleThread are really looking forward to it. It’s a phenomenal opportunity to talk to fellow industry professionals, to discover new methods and have a fun time.
There’s so much on this year it’s hard to choose what to attend. Thursday’s panel session on “Challenges in Business Ethics: What Would You Do?” looks brilliant. It’s pulling together an industry panel of proposal and capture management for an interactive discussion with the audience. The panel is:
• Betsy Blakney, CPP APMP Fellow – Director of Proposal Management, CACI
• Bob Lohfeld, CF APMP -CEO and General Manager, Lohfeld Consulting Group
• Steve Shipley, CF APMP Fellow – President and CEO, Shipley Associates
• Gillian A. Dionne, CKM, CP APMP- Director, Business Development Information Systems, General Dynamics
• Kristin Dufrene, CPP APMP Fellow – Vice President, Proposal Development, Engility Corporation
Moderated by Peggy Dufour, CPP APMP
The panel will be drawing on their own personal career experience to offer lessons learned to the audience.
Federal Plain Language Guidelines Seminar
The talk will be providing an analysis of the Federal Plain Language Guidelines and show how to apply the guidelines to a proposal.
Mirroring your Customer’s Language – Improving Compliance
Our own CEO, Fergal McGovern will be giving a talk on Thursday at 2.20pm. “Does Your Proposal Mirror Your Customer’s Language?” looks at practical strategies to measure language compliance. Lack of alignment & poor proposal clarity damages the probability of winning bids. This session will offer analysis techniques that will improve your compliance and alignment.
The Decline of the Incumbent Empire
We are also really looking forward to Lisa Pafe’s “The Decline of the Incumbent Empire: Rebid Strategies”. Lisa, CPP APMP is Principal Consultant at Lohfeld Consulting and has 24 years experience in capture and proposal management.
Her talk will highlight how recent studies suggest incumbent contractors now have the same win rate as non-incumbents. Lisa is going to look at both sides of the coin. First she will explain how incumbents can best hold on to bids. Second she will explain how non-incumbents challenge incumbents in the federal market.
